Job description

Your role
As a Compressor Analysis Engineer, you play a critical role in analyzing and evaluating the feasibility of our engineered to order centrifugal compressor designs for applications and aftermarket needs. Your work focuses on performing aerodynamic and mechanical calculations, sizing key components, and preparing engineering documentation to support design and production. By leveraging your analytical skills and attention to detail, you ensure designs meet performance requirements and align with internal standards. You will report to the Analytical Manager.
You will
  • Analyze and evaluate compressor aerodynamic performance and re-rate existing designs based on prior data and new requirements.
  • Size and select mechanical rotor components such as bearings, seals, and gearing.
  • Design compressor aerodynamic components including impellers and diffusers.
  • Work extensively with numbers, calculations, and spreadsheets to support engineering decisions.
  • Prepare engineering documentation for preliminary aerodynamic and mechanical designs
  • Collaborate with global teams, including applications and aftermarket groups, to support business needs.
To succeed, you will need
We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every single requirement. We value diverse experiences and perspectives and are excited to see what you bring to the role.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Nuclear Engineering
  • 0-2 years of experience (internships, co-ops, or project experience welcomed)
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas and data analysis)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex calculations
  • Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across global teams

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Programming experience (Python, C++, VBA)
  • Familiarity with SAP or Bill of Materials (BOM) systems
  • Exposure to manufacturing or mechanical systems (e.g., robotics, Formula SAE, Baja)
In return, we offer
  • A Collaborative Culture: Join a team-oriented engineering group where tasks are shared, knowledge is exchanged, and innovation is encouraged.
  • Professional Growth: Gain deep understanding of compressor systems and build a strong technical foundation that opens doors across engineering, applications, and aftermarket functions.
  • Work That Matters: Play a key role in designing and analyzing the core components of complex machinery used around the world.
  • Hands-On Exposure: Go beyond spreadsheets. See how designs translate into real machines, components, and testing environments.
  • Solid Support: Work alongside experienced engineers in a safety-first culture where continuous learning is encouraged.
  • Great Benefits: Competitive pay, paid time off (vacation and sick days), and a 401(k) with up to 6% company match.
  • Competitive Pay: Earn a base salary ranging from $74,000 - $83,000 annually and an annual bonus opportunity starting at 5% of base salary.
Job location
Your job location for this role will be at our facility in Voorheesville, United States (US), with a hybrid work model. You will collaborate with a highly skilled engineering team while also benefiting from hands-on exposure to manufacturing and testing environments.
