Job description

Senior Design Engineer

Overview

Lead the design, development, and sustainment of centrifugal pumps and fluid handling systems. Serve as a technical leader driving product innovation, performance, manufacturability, and continuous improvement while collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and R&D teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead product design from concept through production launch for centrifugal pumps and fluid power systems.
  • Develop product architecture, performance requirements, and technical strategy.
  • Perform hydraulic, fluid dynamics, and system-level analysis to optimize product performance and reliability.
  • Support testing, validation, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations.
  • Lead design reviews, approve engineering documentation, and drive NPD and VAVE initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support manufacturing, suppliers, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Manage engineering projects to meet cost, quality, and schedule objectives.
Qualifications
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of centrifugal pump design experience with knowledge of hydraulic and electric motors.
  • Strong understanding of rotating equipment, fluid power systems, and hydraulic performance.
  • Experience with FEA, FMEA, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design verification.
  • Hands-on laboratory testing and validation experience.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.

This is a Permanent position based out of Crawfordsville, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
