Job description

The Lead Analyst plays a critical role in driving sales performance through deep data analysis and strategic insights. This individual will be responsible for interpreting complex sales data, identifying trends, and making data-driven recommendations that optimize sales strategies. The Lead Analyst will collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Sales Operations to provide forecasts, reports, and actionable insights that directly impact revenue growth and profitability.

This role partners with cross-functional stakeholders to gather and clarify reporting requirements, develops complex SQL queries to extract and analyze data from various relational databases, and builds interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Cognos, Tableau, SSRS, or Salesforce. Ensures data accuracy, consistency, and completeness, monitors and optimizes report performance, and troubleshoots issues related to data discrepancies and visualization errors.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Report Development:
    • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather and clarify reporting requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
    • Design and implement scalable reporting solutions that meet user needs and support decision-making.
    • Develop and maintain complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from various relational databases.
    • Build interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Cognos, Tableau, or SSRS.
    • Validate data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all reporting outputs.
    • Monitor and optimize report performance, including load times and query efficiency.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data discrepancies, report logic, and visualization errors.
  • Lead analysis and interpretation of sales data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for growth. Utilize tools such as Excel, SQL, and business intelligence software to manipulate and visualize data.
  • Lead the alignment of sales performance data with broader business goals. Understand financial metrics and their implications on revenue, profitability, and margins to provide insights that enhance decision-making.
  • Use CRM systems such as Salesforce, along with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau, to collect, manage, and present sales data. Leverage these tools to create automated reporting processes and improve data accuracy.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, sales teams, and cross-functional partners. Craft clear, data-driven presentations and reports to support strategic initiatives.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Level of Formal Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Area of Study: Business, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 5
  • Type of Experience:       
    • 5 year's relevant experience in related field, such as sales operations, business analytics, or a related field.
    • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in business reporting and analysis.

  • Skills & Abilities:             
    • Comfortable with matrix environment, data analytics, tech savvy
    • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into actionable recommendations
    • Ability to effectively adapt to and apply rapidly changing technology to business needs
  • Additional Language Skills: Strong verbal communication, Fluent in English
  • Personal Attributes & Other/Preferred:
    • Strong understanding of financial concepts and their impact on sales performance.
