The LCMS Foundation Mission

The LCMS Foundation provides Christian estate planning services to members of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), helping them make sure their God-given assets, things like retirement accounts, their home or land, will leave a positive, lasting impact upon the people they love and the congregation or ministries they care about most. The Foundation also provides investment services to LCMS organizations, helping them steward and grow the gifts their members and supporters have so generously provided.

When the Foundation does its job well, both donors and ministries are blessed. Specifically, donors are assisted in using their God-given spirit of generosity to make the most effective gifts to ministries and their families. While ministries are blessed through the creation of long-term funding sources, as well as by having the Foundation as a trusted steward to invest and grow those sources.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to the Senior Vice President of the Growth Marketing department.

General Summary

The Marketing Manager is responsible for executing integrated marketing campaigns and growth initiatives that increase awareness of the Foundation, and attract and retain gift planning donors.

Essential Job Functions
  • Manage the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns and other growth initiatives from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary marketing partner for the Foundation's Gift Planning team, working closely with gift planning counselors to identify marketing opportunities, improve outreach efforts, strengthen donor engagement and support the department’s growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Vice President of Growth Marketing to develop and implement an annual Gift Planning marketing strategy, campaign calendar and related growth initiatives.
  • Provide marketing support for events, sponsorships, conferences and conventions, including attending approximately 1–3 events annually.
  • Serve as an advanced HubSpot user for both day-to-day marketing activities, as well as recommending best practices, developing processes, and assisting with training of HubSpot's marketing, CRM and sales enablement tools.
  • Utilize HubSpot, Excel and other tools to manage marketing campaigns, analyze performance, maintain marketing data and generate insights that improve decision making and campaign effectiveness.
  • Ensure all marketing communications accurately reflect the Foundation's brand, messaging standards and organizational priorities while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
  • At least 3 years marketing experience, including campaign management, email marketing, reporting, workflows, and lead nurturing.
  • Experience with CRM or similar system.  (HubSpot preferred.)
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
  • Demonstrated ability to implement campaigns across multiple marketing channels, including digital marketing, website, email, print, direct mail, social media, and events.
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy, branding, audience segmentation, messaging and multi-channel campaign planning.
  • Exceptional copywriting and proofreading skills, with the ability to create and refine marketing communications for a variety of audiences and channels.
  • Ability to build trusted working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and serve as a strategic marketing advisor to internal teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with marketing metrics and other data to identify trends, measure performance and to refine or change tactics.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel for organizing, analyzing and integrating marketing data.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate cross-functional projects and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
