Overview

The Field Technical Manager requires display technical experience related to electrical and optical specification. This role is focused on coordinating the automotive LCD display specification, especially electrical and optical, with customer and Sharp Japan engineering team and deeply involving technical requirements in the development as well as issue resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Work with OEM/Tier1 customers to develop and win-in new automotive displays as Field Technical Manager. Manage the technical design of new products from initial kickoff through production launch.
  • Responsible for driving customer requirements related to display electrical / optical specification covering the whole phase (from RFQ to SOP) including display design specification, circuit analysis, Electromagnetic interference/compatibility, compatibility with OEM system.
  • Communicate with the design team in Japan on a very frequent basis and manage the communication between the Sharp Japan team and customers.
  • Work/Communicate closely with Sharp Japan engineering team to define display specification.
  • Follow customer product development milestones as well as internal program management process for successful milestone deliveries.
  • Analyze PCBA and Hands-on debugging if needed. Must have excellent lab skills (using oscilloscopes, logic analyzer, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, optical measurement equipment, soldering skills etc).
  • Develop technical documents to assist customers with interfacing our LCD products.
  • Local engineering support for customer field issues during development stage.
  • Apply experience, lessons learned and strong principles to improve EMC and circuit/layout design.
  • Work with cross-functional team to launch the product successfully from RFQ to mass production.
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills with an ability to evaluate information generating possible alternatives and consequences carefully and systematically.
  • Excellent presentation skills that will effectively communicate to an audience in a formal setting as well as at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to influence and shape the decisions of others and to work through issues or conflicts.
  • Strong commitment to providing world-class customer service and support to exceed expectations by taking the initiative and anticipating customer needs throughout the designing, promoting, and delivery of products.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or system engineering with at least 7 years of working experience in display related industries. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Good experience and knowledge with LCD, TFT, backlight technology
  • Experience in analog/digital design, signal/power integrity, etc.
  • Experience with Or-CAD for circuit design and simulation
  • Familiar with TI FPD link / Maxim GSML
  • Ability to collaborate with HQ design team and customers.
  • Strong knowledge of OEM development process
  • Experience in working with international, cross-functional teams.
  • Experience of optical data analysis with Python language is a plus.
  • Japanese language is plus.
  • Ability to travel 5%-10% domestically.
