 Substance Abuse Counselor (LCAS / LCAS-A)

$58,000 - $63,000 annually
Full-Time | M-F 11am - 7pm / 12 Noon - 8pm

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a licensed Substance Abuse Counselor (LCAS or LCAS-A eligible) to join our Concord, NC team. This role provides structured clinical services to individuals in substance use treatment while collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team to support long-term recovery.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments addressing behavioral, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual needs

  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans

  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions

  • Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation in the Electronic Client Record (ECR) system

  • Participate in utilization review (UR) and provide required clinical documentation

  • Conduct Level of Care Assessments as needed

  • Support aftercare and discharge planning and assist with outcome data collection

  • Participate in the on-call rotation as assigned

  • Contribute to curriculum development, therapeutic resources, and staff training materials

  • Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when necessary

  • Complete all required trainings and comply with program and company policies

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications
  • Active LCAS or LCAS-A eligibility (required)

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field

  • Valid North Carolina licensure or eligibility in one of the following:

    • LCAS / LCAS-A (Must have or be eligible)

    • LCMHC / LCMHC-A

    • LCSW / LCSW-A


Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in substance use or mental health treatment settings

  • Familiarity with utilization review, documentation standards, and multidisciplinary care teams
