This billing method means clients pay for every hour or portion of an hour the lawyer works, including meetings, phone calls, research, and drafting documents. Hourly rates can vary widely depending on the lawyer's experience, location, and the complexity of the legal matter. Clients often receive detailed invoices showing the time spent on each task.
