About this Role:

Consertus is seeking an EMS Senior Technician to support LAUSD Maintenance & Operations. This role will assist the EMS Supervisor and perform field work to help maintain the District's HVAC Direct Digital Controls (DDC) and Energy Management Systems (EMS). The EMS Senior Technician will also work with LAUSD's Technical Quality Support Team (TQST) to support preventive maintenance initiatives, identify potential energy conservation measures, and recommend facility improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with HVAC DDC and EMS design and submittal reviews.
  • Review utility and energy usage data to identify sites for recommissioning/retro-commissioning.
  • Review EMS data and alarms to identify no-cost/low-cost energy conservation and preventive maintenance measures.
  • Conduct site visits to investigate and evaluate EMS/DDC conditions.
  • Scope and implement low-cost solutions or alternatives to EMS repairs/upgrades at existing school sites.
  • Respond to trouble calls; calibrate systems, and troubleshoot/resolving basic electrical and DDC issues.
  • Support and assist in managing in-house commissioning projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years professional experience as an HVAC DDC Technician.
  • Understanding of computer networking principles, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to wire, start up, and troubleshoot basic HVAC DDC maintenance issues.
  • Fundamental understanding of HVAC operations within a facility.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical, Information Technology), OR
  • Two-year technical degree in HVAC/Electronics-related studies plus 2 additional years of experience (year-for-year substitution).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multiple DDC manufacturers such as Automated Logic, Carrier, Delta, Distech, Schneider Electric, or Trane.
  • Proven ability to debug installation issues during static and dynamic start-up phases.
  • Experience supporting installation personnel and contractors on job sites.
  • Extensive experience performing or assisting with commissioning of EMS.

Working Hours & Location: Full-time, exempt role with standard business hours. In addition, this is an onsite position, and Monday - Friday in Los Angeles, CA.

Compensation Range: $101,920 - $108,160 annually; Eligible for Bonus
