Reports To: Sam Steinmetz, SaaS Operations Manager
Schedule: Primarily standard business hours; however, this role requires flexibility to support customer launches, field deployments, operational audits, and live issue resolution which may include early mornings, evenings, overnight travel, or occasional weekends depending on business and customer needs.
Pay Rate: $75,000-$95,000 annually
FLSA Status: Exempt
Travel: Up to 40-50% depending on deployment schedules and operational priorities

About the Role


The Field Operations Technology Specialist is responsible for supporting the deployment, operational readiness, and long-term performance of Booster's BOS platform and third-party (3P) partner network in the field. 


This role will be highly customer facing and serves as the operational bridge between technology, field execution, customer onboarding, and partner support.


This position combines field operations, technical troubleshooting, implementation support, and operational governance into a highly hands-on role that directly impacts customer launches, deployment quality, operational scalability, and partner success.


The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced operational environments, is comfortable working directly in the field, and can independently diagnose and resolve issues involving hardware, workflows, operational processes, and BOS platform adoption.


This individual will work closely with Customer Excellence, Product, Engineering, Technical Support, and Operations leadership to ensure Booster deployments are executed with consistency, professionalism, and operational discipline.


Job Responsibilities


BOS Deployments & Field Implementation

  • Support field deployment and onboarding activities for new BSP (Booster Service Partner) launches and customer implementations.
  • Install, configure, validate, and troubleshoot BOS hardware, mobile devices, telematics equipment, and operational technology systems.
  • Conduct deployment readiness assessments to ensure partner operational preparedness prior to launch.
  • Execute on-site field visits, ride-alongs, operational audits, and implementation support activities.
  • Assist with launch coordination activities including training, operational validation, hardware verification, and system testing.
  • Ensure deployments are completed according to Booster operational standards, SOPs, and Vendor Excellence expectations.

Technical Troubleshooting & Operational Support

  • Serve as a frontline operational and technical resource for field-related BOS issues and escalations.
  • Diagnose hardware, connectivity, workflow, and operational issues impacting partner performance or customer experience.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Technical Support, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to drive issue resolution.
  • Escalate systemic or recurring operational concerns while helping drive containment and corrective action plans.
  • Support root cause analysis efforts by documenting field observations, operational failures, and troubleshooting findings.
  • Reduce unnecessary escalations through strong field diagnostics and operational problem-solving.

Vendor Excellence & Operational Compliance

  • Support Booster's Vendor Excellence Program through operational audits, field assessments, and compliance validation.
  • Evaluate field execution standards including operational workflows, BOS utilization, deployment quality, and safety adherence.
  • Identify operational gaps and support corrective action follow-through with partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Reinforce operational accountability standards through consistent field presence and coaching.
  • Document audit findings, field observations, and operational performance trends.

Partner Training & Enablement

  • Train partners and field personnel on BOS systems, operational workflows, deployment procedures, and field best practices.
  • Support onboarding and operational readiness programs for new BSP partners and field teams.
  • Assist in developing scalable field documentation, SOPs, training materials, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on field execution standards and operational technology usage.
  • Help improve adoption and utilization of Booster operational systems across the partner network.

Process Improvement & Scalability

  • Identify recurring field issues and operational inefficiencies impacting scalability or customer experience.
  • Recommend process improvements that improve deployment consistency, troubleshooting efficiency, and operational execution.
  • Provide field feedback to Product and Engineering teams regarding system usability, operational friction points, and enhancement opportunities.
  • Assist in developing scalable deployment playbooks, launch procedures, and field support standards.
  • Support operational standardization initiatives across Booster's growing national BSP network.

Requirements


  • 3-5+ years of experience in field operations, technical operations, logistics, implementation support, or related operational environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities in fast-paced operational settings.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with operational, technical, and customer-facing teams.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment in the field.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working directly in operational environments including yards, fleet facilities, fueling operations, and customer locations.
  • Ability to travel frequently to support deployments, launches, and operational initiatives.
  • Experience with fuel operations, fleet operations, mobile fueling, telematics, or transportation logistics.
  • Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM), IoT hardware, connectivity troubleshooting, or operational technology platforms.
  • Experience conducting operational audits, field training, or compliance assessments.
  • Exposure to SaaS-enabled operational environments or technology-driven field organizations.
  • Experience supporting market launches or scalable operational deployment programs.
