Guest Services Associate

This is a temp to hire full-time position that requires at least 30 hours/week. Schedule varies and can offer some flexibility but requires availability to work weeknights and weekends.

Who We're Looking For

The GRAMMY Museum is an exciting and interactive celebration of the power of music occupying a vibrant space in downtown Los Angeles. Four floors of cutting-edge exhibits, interactive experiences, and films provide a one-of-a-kind visitor experience - engaging, educational, celebratory, and inspirational.

The Guest Services Associate is a highly motivated individual who is engaged in the world of music. You will be responsible for providing information about the GRAMMY Museum to guests and visitors, as well as assist management in all matters related to ticketing and retail store operations.

What You'll Do
  • Assist customers with ticket purchases by using TicketSocket/Universe and cash handling.
  • Keep track of timed ticket allotments to monitor the Grammy Museum's capacity limits.
  • Provide information to guests and visitors about the GRAMMY Museum.
  • Oversee ticket operations in manager's absence and follow procedures for opening/closing ticket booths.
  • Accurately reconcile all ticket sales at the end of each business day.
  • Work closely with our operations staff to monitor crowd flow and capacity limits.
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstation and retail store at all times.
  • Assist management with special projects.
  • Assist store manager with all store duties, including opening/closing retail store and ensure store is maintained and stocked.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate merchandise.
  • Give tours to groups of adults or students as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous retail experience including with retail store merchandise displays and promotions.
  • Strong cash handling experience and experience operating a POS/register system.
  • A dynamic and positive personality with demonstrated professionalism and respect when dealing with clients, customers, and team members.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the desire to lead by example.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills. Bilingual language skills a plus.
  • Must be punctual in reporting to work and returning from breaks.

Physical demands for certain roles include standing, walking, and sitting for long periods of time, and working at a computer for long periods of time. Employee must have a vehicle and be able to lift up to 50lbs.

The starting hourly rate for this position is $20.00 per hour, benchmarked against industry standards. Rates for positions required to be in specific geographic locations reflect the corresponding labor market. The actual offer extended will depend on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and the role's requirements. Staff positions working 20+ hours per week also receive our comprehensive benefits package (with medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k match, generous paid time off, and more).
