Full-Time:Hourly

**Shift: **6am-430pm, 12pm-10:30pm, 3:30pm-2am ($1.00 Prem for Night Shift)

Pay Rate: $19.25-$24.00 Based off experience.

Overview

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes, mills, and 5‑axis machining centers to produce precision aerospace components. This role requires strong technical ability in CNC operation, Mastercam programming, blueprint interpretation, precision measurement, and troubleshooting. The machinist will ensure all parts meet strict quality and tolerance requirements while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC Horizontal Lathes, Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL), Mills, and 5‑Axis machining centers.

  • Program and edit CNC programs using Mastercam

  • Load materials, configure machine parameters, and execute machining operations according to specifications.

  • Identify non‑conforming parts and perform corrective actions.

  • Analyze results from coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and apply proper tool wear offsets at the controller.

  • Fabricate custom tooling, fixtures, and chuck jaws as needed for specific jobs.

  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.

  • Maintain tight tolerances and ensure all parts meet aerospace quality standards.

  • Troubleshoot machining issues, tool wear, and program errors.

  • Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized.

  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors and support other operators when needed.

  • Meet productivity, quality, and safety expectations.

  • Maintain excellent attendance and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CNC machine setup, operation, and adjustments.

  • Experience with

  • Strong understanding of G‑code and CNC program editing.

  • Ability to use precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges.

  • Knowledge of machining aerospace‑grade materials and sheet metal components.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to mentor junior operators.
