The Landis Lead is responsible for operating the Landis machine while coordinating daily production, assigning work, and maintaining lathe equipment. This hands-on role ensures projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule while supporting overall shop efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operate the Landis machine to produce high-quality threaded pipe and fabricated components.
  • Schedule and prioritize Landis projects to meet production deadlines.
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and perform machining operations as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on Landis and lathe equipment.
  • Inspect finished work to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following OSHA standards.
  • Collaborate with the Shop Foreperson and production team to maximize efficiency and meet customer expectations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience operating Landis, lathe, or other machining equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience performing basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to take precise measurements.
  • Ability to prioritize work, stay organized, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment.
