Position Title: Surgical Services Manager RN

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Services Manager (RN) to lead and inspire our perioperative team in delivering exceptional patient care. This role is pivotal to maintaining clinical excellence, driving operational performance, and fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and collaboration within surgical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and resolve real or potential issues affecting the department; implement sustainable solutions with clear communication and follow-up.
  • Actively participate in departmental, hospital-wide, and service committees, serving as a liaison and communicator.
  • Promote and enhance the patient and physician experience in Surgical Services.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development to team members, including documentation and support of individual development plans.
  • Maintain compliance with Human Resources policies and ensure fair, consistent leadership practices.
  • Share pertinent information about organizational, departmental, and industry updates with staff.
  • Foster evidence-based engagement strategies to improve employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to support departmental and organizational goals.
  • Lead employee and patient rounding and mentor emerging leaders within the team.
  • Enforce standards of surgical care and ensure consistent adherence across procedures and staff.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive surgical services program aligned with hospital mission and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as all hospital safety policies.
  • Lead a Performance Improvement (PI) program, analyzing and improving critical aspects of care.
  • Monitor quality event reporting and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Support the launch of new surgical programs or enhancements that expand patient services.
  • Evaluate and defend capital equipment needs aligned with departmental growth and safety.
  • Manage departmental financial performance, ensuring appropriate resource use and budget adherence.
  • Position the department as the "OR of Choice" for physicians, patients, payers, and staff in the community.
  • Exhibit a poised and confident leadership presence and serve as a role model for the organization.
  • Uphold the hospital's Mission, Vision, Values, and Code of Conduct.

Required Skills and Certifications:

  • MSN required this is a Magnet-recognized facility.
  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent acute care OR management experience.
