As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for:

  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.

Education Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs

Experience Requirements

  • One year experience preferred
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

Licenses/Certification Requirements

  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact

Where You'll Work

At Holy Cross Hospital – West Valley, being a Level III Trauma center in northwestern Salt Lake Valley allows the Perioperative Department to see a wide range of patient needs and acuity levels. The surgical unit has 5 operating rooms including a Trauma room, Orthopedic room, and a Cystoscopy room. We have a high powered holmium laser that is used in urology for the HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate) procedure, as well as the CORI Robotic system allowing us to provide robotically assisted total joint replacement surgery. Currently we provide 10 different specialties including trauma, ortho, general, bariatric, ENT, plastics, urology, GYN, interventional pain, and more.

Our skilled team is cross trained for all specialties allowing for an increased knowledge base of surgical procedures and the ability to cover any patient care needs. We strive to provide safe, quality patient care and exceptional customer service to our providers. The surgical department is fully invested in the team approach to patient care. We support one another and encourage further education, internal promotions, and a work-life balance. A successful member on this team will be diligent, dedicated, accountable and have a positive attitude, open communication, and vested interest in our department's mission.
