Job Title: Laser Machine Operator

Status: Non-exempt (Hourly)

Pay: $24 - $29/hr. +Shift Differential DOE, plus monthly bonus program is paid when company-wide monthly sales goal is reached (full-time).

Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 5:00am to 5:30pm

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Provides the setup, operation and maintenance of Laser cutting machines. Plans for the efficient operation of the laser and works with the Laser Programmer to coordinate the laser production in an efficient manner. Ability to fulfill general Warehouse and Processor duties as assigned or needed.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on laser machine operation experience, including setup, cutting, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with laser cutting processes, including nozzle changes, lens cleaning, and parameter adjustments.
  • Forklift experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and digital part files with accuracy.
  • Computer literacy sufficient for loading, editing, and managing CNC/laser programs.
  • Strong measurement skills using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and related tools.

REQUIRED PERSONAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with others.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent work ethic, reliability, and consistent attendance.
  • Ability to read and write in English is required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Load and unload material from auto loader, using forklift.
  • Clean lens, align and change nozzle.
  • Operate forklifts.
  • Load, edit and delete programs.
  • Measure parts with tape, calipers, mics, radius gauges, square and protractor.
  • Read prints or digital files to ensure part conforms to customer's design.
  • Adjust parameters to ensure optimal cut quality.
  • Properly identify and process paperwork necessary for material handling and production recording in metalware.
  • Properly & accurately fill out inspection and daily Laser log.
  • General maintenance and cleaning of Laser as assigned.
  • Properly identify for traceability purposes and put away rem drops daily.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work area.
  • Good attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Perform other necessary duties and tasks as requested.
