Winholt Equipment is an industry leader in the manufacturing and distribution of custom fabricated stainless steel, aluminum and steel food preparation and material handling equipment. We are seeking is seeking an experienced Laser Cutter operator to operate our new, state of the art Fiber Laser Cutter located in a clean and well lit and stress-free working environment. In this role, the operator will follow production schedules, coordinate with other departments and collaborate with the engineering team.

Job Description:

  • Machine start-up, operation and maintenance.
  • Follow production plans
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints
  • Convert drawing files to program files, create programs, modify programs as needed including nesting functions.
  • Troubleshoot and collaborate with other departments inside and outside of the facility.
  • Select designated raw materials and load/unload parts using a vacuum material lifter/placer.
  • Inspect completed component quality
  • Communicate with supervisors and leads regarding job order status.
  • Other duties as required.

Skills/Knowledge Requirements:

  • Must have prior experience operating a fiber laser cutter.
  • Able to use operating interface devices (OID).
  • Basic measuring tools (tape measure, square, calipers).
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation is a must.
  • Ability lift and move raw materials including sheet stock.
  • Communicate clearly and work effectively with supervisors and peers.
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Maintain production records and job order packets.
  • Follow all safety rules, wear required PPE and work in a safe manner.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and communicate effectively in person and by phone.
  • Regular use of hands and arms for handling, reaching, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Comfortable working in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including eye protection and protective clothing.
