Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dependable Digital Press Operator to join our team at Paramount Printing in Dalton, GA. As a Digital Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating a large-format digital press, ensuring high-quality print production, and monitoring color accuracy to meet client specifications. This position also involves setup, light maintenance of the press, and adhering to safety protocols to maintain an efficient and productive work environment.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain a large-format digital press to produce high-quality printed materials based on client specifications.
  • Continuously monitor print color output to ensure adherence to established specifications and quality standards.
  • Set up the digital press for each job, including loading media, configuring settings, and conducting test runs to verify proper setup before production.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on the press, such as cleaning, changing inks, and ensuring all components are functioning properly.
  • Ensure that all prints meet required quality standards, adjusting settings as necessary to maintain color accuracy, sharpness, and consistency.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your teammates.
  • Maintain optimal press operation to meet production deadlines and maximize output without compromising quality.
  • Identify and resolve minor operational issues or malfunctions during the production process, escalating more complex issues to management or maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of digital press operation and maintenance. Ability to monitor color accuracy and make necessary adjustments.
  • Comfort with basic troubleshooting and press setup; familiarity with large-format digital printing technology is a plus.
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure print quality meets company and client standards.
  • Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
  • Ability to work in a variety of roles.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to utilize the tact and diplomacy required to foster a team environment while keeping projects on schedule and budget.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, as well as a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Supervision Received:
Works with minimal supervision. Issues and concerns need to be communicated to supervisor.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Digital Press Operator or in a similar printing position preferred, though training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting: Occasionally raises objects from a lower to a higher position or moves objects horizontally from position-to position. Weight is usually less than 20 lbs.
  • Push/Pull: Occasionally uses upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Weight is usually less than 20 lbs.
  • Reaching: Extends hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Weight is usually less than 20 lbs.
  • Stooping: Bends body downward and forward at the waist. Weight is usually less than 20 lbs.
  • Standing: Standing for moderate levels of time. Infrequently more than 30 minutes at a time.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks. In frequently more than 30 minutes at a time.
Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
