VUTEk Operator (Large-Format Digital Print Production Specialist)

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented VUTEk Operator to set up, operate, and maintain large-format EFI VUTEk printing systems. This role requires strong color management skills, mechanical aptitude, and hands-on experience in high-volume print production environments.

The ideal candidate will ensure consistent, high-quality output while working closely with prepress, finishing, and shipping teams to meet strict production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate EFI VUTEk wide-format printers, including loading media, inks, and curing systems
  • Prepare and manage print files, including color management, ICC profiling, and soft proofing
  • Start up, calibrate, maintain, and clean printers according to manufacturer and company guidelines
  • Monitor print output for quality, color accuracy, and consistency throughout production runs
  • Troubleshoot printing issues and coordinate with service technicians when necessary
  • Manage media inventory, supplies, and basic production maintenance tasks
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and production procedures
  • Collaborate with prepress, finishing, and shipping teams to meet production deadlines
  • Document job settings, production parameters, and quality checks for repeatable workflows

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in large-format printing (VUTEk/EFI experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of color management, ICC profiles, and print proofing workflows
  • Familiarity with RIP software such as Wasatch, Caldera, or EFI Fiery
  • Experience with file formats including PDF, TIFF, and EPS for print production
