Job description

We are hiring a Print Shop Production Technician. This Production Technician position is temp to perm and has the opportunity for full-time hire for the right candidate.
Duties: 
Printing & Production
•Operate large format printers, plotters, laminators, and other sign production equipment.
•Prepare, load, and unload print media including vinyl, banner material, paper, canvas, and specialty substrates.
•Monitor print jobs to ensure quality, color accuracy, and production efficiency.
•Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of printers and equipment.
•Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major problems as needed.
•Maintain production schedules and ensure jobs are completed on time.
Finishing & Installation Preparation
•Laminate printed graphics using cold and heat-assisted laminators.
•Trim, weed, mount, and finish printed materials.
•Apply graphics to substrates including PVC, aluminum, acrylic, corrugated plastic, foam board, and other sign materials.
•Cut materials using hand tools and power equipment.
•Package completed products for delivery, shipping, or installation.
•Inspect finished products for quality control and accuracy before release.
Computer & Design Support
•Use sign-making and graphics software to prepare files for production.
•Review artwork and customer files for proper sizing, resolution, and production requirements.
•Scale, adjust, and organize digital files for printing.
•Operate RIP software to manage print queues and printer workflows.
•Maintain digital production records and job documentation.
•Assist with basic graphic design modifications when needed.
Shop Operations
•Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment.
•Track inventory of media, inks, laminates, substrates, and supplies.
•Assist with receiving shipments and organizing materials.
•Follow all company safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
•Collaborate with team members to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.
•Support other production and installation activities as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
•Experience operating large format printers, cutters, laminators, or related production equipment preferred.
•Basic to intermediate computer skills.
•Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, FlexiSIGN, Onyx, or similar software is a plus.
•Ability to read work orders, measurements, and production specifications.
•Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
•Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools safely.
•Ability to troubleshoot basic production equipment issues.
•Strong organizational and time management skills.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
•Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
•Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and move throughout the workday.
•Comfortable working around production equipment and machinery.
•Ability to handle large rolls of media and oversized sign materials.
•Possess good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
•Previous experience in sign manufacturing, print production, graphics, or related industries.

Work Location: In Person / Production Facility in North Bergen
Schedule: Monday-Friday from 10am to 7pm (with occasional overtime as required to meet production deadlines)
