Job description

New Moon Farm Sanctuary is looking for a few new team members for our regular, weekly shifts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We ask volunteers to commit to a 2 hour shift, once a week for at least 6 months.

After an initial orientation session volunteers work independently on the farm; shifts can be scheduled between 9am and 6pm on the chosen day. Chores include cleaning the barns, paddocks and pastures, scrubbing & filling water tubs, and other tasks as assigned. Of course, hanging out with the animals is the best part! All volunteers must be able to lift 40+ pounds, push and dump a full wheelbarrow, work with shovels, rakes and brooms, navigate uneven terrain, and be comfortable working around large animals (or willing to learn enough about them to get comfortable). Volunteers under 16 are required to have a parent working alongside.

The energy at New Moon is peaceful and positive. Working with your hands outside, surrounded by content animals connects you to nature, which is truly grounding. We have volunteers who have been driving from over an hour away weekly, for many years, because it has become a sanctuary for them as well. We hope you will consider joining our team
