Job description

Project Manager

Shasta Wood Products, Inc., is a custom cabinet and millwork company catering to custom builders, designers, and architects. Our reputation for quality work has contributed to our success in the exclusive commercial and custom home market industry for nearly 40 years. Our business is located in Northern California near Redding in Shasta County.

We are currently seeking a Draftsperson/Project Manager to become a key member of our team. This role is ideal for an experienced and motivated individual who can work closely with contractors, designers, and architects on commercial casework projects.

Responsibilities include providing shop drawings and ready-to-build designs using Cabinet Ware, Cabinet Vision, and AutoCAD. This position will also support project management responsibilities to help ensure projects stay organized, accurate, and on schedule.

Wage will be commensurate with experience, ability, and performance.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Cabinet Vision Experience if possible 
  • Strong verbal and written skills are required.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills are required.
  • Ability to manage project details, timelines, revisions, and communication between contractors, architects, designers, and internal teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, technical specifications, and scope sheets.
  • Practical experience in woodworking and cabinet design is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ADA and AWI rules, restrictions, and requirements is helpful.
  • Drafting and layout of cabinet projects is a plus.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and expertise with Cabinet Vision is desired.

Examples of Duties

  • Prepare takeoffs from architectural plans for millwork and casework.
  • Interact and problem solve with contractor/architect/designer.
  • Confirm measurements.
  • Produce working set of shop drawings.
  • Program CNC machine and work closely with CNC operator, production manager, and foreman to convey job information.
  • Oversee Cabinet Vision set up and training.
  • Track revisions, project updates, and key deadlines to help keep jobs organized and moving forward.
  • Coordinate job information between drafting, CNC, production management, and foremen.
  • Support project management responsibilities from planning through completion.
  • Must be punctual. Schedule TBD.
