Job description

We are looking for lead teachers for two toddler rooms. Responsibilities will cover both care and education. Teachers are expected to curate a developmentally appropriate curriculum for their students, communicate with parents about their child's needs and goals, and work with other staff to create a safe and healthy environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Active supervision of students
  • Diaper changes/toileting based on children's needs
  • Maintaining a flexible routine that children can follow
  • Parent communication including daily reports, updates using the Brightwheel app, and parent teacher conferences
  • Classroom organization
  • Interact with children and create a language-rich environment
  • Other duties as necessary

We are only looking for full-time applicants, shift options are 7-4 or 9-6. A valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is required, pay is dependent on education and years of experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour

Company Description

We are a small childcare center in Oak Park, we opened in June 2022. We are licensed for 65 children, we are currently approaching 30 children. The owner, Ms. Patty, has owned a center in Detroit for 15 years and is the director there, and the director in Oak Park, Ms. Gabbi, has a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and has been with Sunrise since the Oak Park center opened in June.
