Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing standardized tools and observational methods.
- Design customized treatment plans that cater to both immediate goals and long-term needs related to communication, cognition, or swallowing.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on language, pronunciation, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical staff, families, and caregivers to ensure an integrated approach to care.
- Educate patients and their families to promote progress beyond the therapy sessions.
- Occasionally perform inpatient evaluations and therapy, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout the recovery process.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation that adheres to all state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Remain engaged with the latest developments in the field through continuous education and dialogue with peers.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) awarded by ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within the first month of employment.
