The Charter mandates the Commission with running a citywide participatory budgeting program, providing poll site language assistance, providing technical assistance to community boards, partnering with community-based organizations and civic leaders to increase awareness of City services, and assisting City agencies in developing civic engagement initiatives. The Commission also oversees the Taskforce for Racial Inclusion and Equity Neighborhood Coalition program.
About the Vote Language Assistance Program: The Voter Language Assistance (VLA) Program (VLA) provides interpretation services for limited-English-proficient voters during general and primary elections. The program also supports education and outreach initiatives in collaboration with community-based organizations (CBOs), aiming to increase equitable participation in NYC elections.

This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and is committed to advancing equitable access to civic participation. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, stakeholder management experience, strong attention to detail, and a passion for civic engagement and language equity.
