Opportunity Overview

We are in search of a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to become part of our well-established, independent physician-owned group as we plan for a transition in the Medical Director role. This is a rare chance to join a stable, democratic emergency medicine practice that has been a vital part of the community since the mid-1970s. Our group is responsible for staffing the Emergency Department at Willamette Valley Medical Center, a 60-bed Level III Trauma Center catering to the greater Willamette Valley area.

The current Medical Director, who has been with us since 2007, is looking for the right physician leader to facilitate a gradual transition over the next 6-12 months.

Medical Director Responsibilities, Compensation, and Benefits

The Medical Director position encompasses:

  • Approximately 60-80 clinical hours each month, along with administrative duties.
  • A structured pathway to assume the Medical Director role over a period of 6-12 months.
  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine, with prior leadership experience being advantageous.
  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience post-training is preferred.
  • Oversight of physician scheduling and operational management.
  • Collaboration with hospital administration and medical staff leaders.
  • Initiatives focused on quality and patient flow.
  • Mentorship and recruitment of physicians.
  • Strategic departmental leadership and development.
