Technical Manager
Technical Manager (Enterprise Applications: Generalist)
Overview:
We are seeking a Technical Manager who can effectively lead technical initiatives across a diverse application landscape without requiring deep specialization in any single platform. This individual will serve as a technical generalist and strategic leader—quickly ramping up on new systems, guiding technical teams, and ensuring solutions align with business objectives.
This role requires a strong balance of technical leadership, business acumen, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business terms and influence decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
•       Technical Leadership & Delivery
o       Lead and coordinate technical work across multiple systems, applications, and integrations
o       Guide development and support teams on design approaches, coding standards, and best practices
o       Quickly come up to speed on new technologies and provide informed technical direction
o       Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned to enterprise standards
•       Cross-Functional Collaboration
o       Act as a liaison between IT and business stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business-friendly language
o       Partner with business teams to understand processes, pain points, and desired outcomes
o       Contribute to solution design that balances technical feasibility with business needs
•       Solution Design & Decision Support
o       Provide technical input into requirements, architecture decisions, and backlog prioritization
o       Evaluate trade-offs, risks, and impacts across systems and integrations
o       Drive decisions that minimize technical debt while maximizing long-term value
•       Team Enablement & Oversight
o       Mentor and guide developers, analysts, and support teams in a collaborative environment
o       Ensure vendor partners and contract resources deliver against expectations and standards
o       Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
•       Operational Excellence
o       Support development and maintenance of technical documentation, runbooks, and support models
o       Lead root cause analysis and drive resolution of complex issues
o       Ensure enhancements, fixes, and integrations are properly tested and validated
o       Support UAT cycles and production readiness activities
•       Process & Continuous Improvement
o       Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and waste reduction
o       Contribute to process roadmaps and modernization efforts
o       Promote Agile delivery practices and iterative improvement
Required Qualifications
•       Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
•       10+ years of experience in application development, systems integration, or enterprise technology environments
•       Proven experience leading technical teams across multiple systems or platforms
•       Strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and business domains
•       Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language
•       Strong understanding of how business processes drive technical requirements and decisions
•       Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
•       Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
•       Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
•       Self-motivated and effective in remote or distributed team environments
Preferred Qualifications:
•       Exposure to automation and job scheduling tools (e.g., Automic or similar)
•       Experience supporting large-scale system implementations, migrations, or modernization efforts such as ServiceNow or ERP systems
