Job Description:

The Quinn's Hot Springs Resort Assistant Maintenance Manager's primary duty is to assist in hiring, directing, and overseeing the maintenance team who are responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of the resort grounds, facilities, roads, equipment, and utility systems. The Assistant Maintenance Manager also provides administrative support utilizing the technological tools at their disposal, including Orbital Shift, Bamboo HR, Microsoft Teams and Outlook among others.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager with the daily operation of the Maintenance Department, ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained resort environment.
  • Lead the Maintenance team in the absence of the Maintenance Manager, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to resort standards.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, coaching, and developing Maintenance team members while helping foster a positive, accountable team culture.
  • Mentor new maintenance technicians by demonstrating proper repair techniques, safe work practices, and company expectations.
  • Support performance management by providing ongoing feedback, documenting performance concerns, and participating in employee evaluations and disciplinary conversations as directed.
  • Help coordinate and oversee the work of outside vendors and contractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and according to expectations.
  • Assist in preparing weekly work schedules, assigning daily tasks, and monitoring work progress to ensure priorities are completed efficiently.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced work environment, effectively managing multiple priorities and frequent interruptions while maintaining accuracy, organization, and professionalism.
  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment, utilities, and guest areas to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and opportunities for preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance, repairs, installations, and renovation projects while minimizing disruption to guests and resort operations.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations, assisting with troubleshooting and coordinating timely resolutions.
  • Prioritize, assign, and monitor resort work orders and service requests, ensuring timely completion and accurate documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining maintenance records, equipment logs, preventative maintenance schedules, and department documentation.
  • Help monitor the condition, cleanliness, and preventative maintenance schedules of resort vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist with snow removal, grounds maintenance, seasonal projects, and special event setup as needed.
  • Assist with inventory management by maintaining appropriate stock levels of maintenance supplies, parts, and equipment.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in monitoring departmental expenses and identifying costโ€‘saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
  • Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures, preventative maintenance programs, and operational efficiencies.
  • Build positive working relationships with all resort departments by responding promptly to maintenance needs and communicating project status effectively.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with OSHA requirements, company policies, and established safety procedures.
  • Participate in leadership meetings, departmental meetings, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support resort operations and guest satisfaction.
Skills Required:
  • Ability to respond to requests and follow instructions from managers, coworkers, etc.
  • Ability to determine best course of action to accommodate the request.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use large variety of hand tools and power tools, this includes the ability to determine which tools to use for tasks.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use landscaping/grounds keeping equipment such as snow blower, shovel, mower, weed eater, etc.
  • General knowledge of landscaping, plumbing, electrical, electronics, and carpentry.
  • Valid Montana Driver's License
Abilities:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, crawl, access awkward spaces
  • Willingness/ability to work in inclement weather (extreme heat or cold)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
Knowledge / Education:
  • Related/similar experience preferred
