Role Overview
The Irrigation Technician serves as a skilled field professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial irrigation systems. Reporting to branch operations leadership, this role helps ensure irrigation systems operate efficiently to support healthy landscapes while delivering exceptional service to clients.
The Irrigation Technician will perform routine inspections, identify system deficiencies, complete repairs, and support seasonal irrigation activities. This role works closely with branch leadership and field teams to maintain high-quality service standards, promote water conservation, and ensure client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform routine inspections of commercial irrigation systems to identify operational issues and maintenance needs.
• Diagnose and repair irrigation components including controllers, valves, sprinkler heads, pipes, wiring, and drip systems.
• Conduct irrigation system start-ups, shutdowns, and winterization services.
• Monitor system performance and adjust improve efficiency and water management.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical irrigation issues.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and inspection reports.
• Operate company vehicles and equipment safely and in accordance with company policies.
• Identify opportunities for system improvements and communicate recommendations to leadership.
• Assist with irrigation installations and enhancement projects as needed.
• Promote a safe work environment and participate in ongoing safety initiatives.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients through professional communication and quality service.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years of irrigation installation, maintenance, or repair experience.
• Working knowledge of commercial irrigation systems and components.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical irrigation issues.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Irrigation certification preferred but not required.
