Location: Oakland, CA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, onsite hours 7:30am-4:00pm.

Compensation: $24 - $27/hr

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Lead and other Maintenance team members in maintaining a diverse portfolio of farms, edible gardens, landscapes, and outdoor spaces across the Bay Area.
  • Perform routine property and landscape maintenance, including pruning, weeding, planting, debris removal, and general site upkeep.
  • Assist with irrigation setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform farm and garden tasks including planting, harvesting, crop care, soil management, and seasonal bed preparation.
  • Learn and apply sustainable farming and landscape management practices, including organic growing methods, soil health, and integrated pest management.
  • Harvest, wash, and prepare produce for distribution to clients.
  • Monitor sites for maintenance needs and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and workspaces in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients through professional communication and quality workmanship.
  • Follow Farmscape standards, best practices, and safety procedures.
  • Represent Farmscape in a friendly, professional, and solutions-oriented manner.
  • Drive between project sites, supply vendors, and company facilities as needed (valid driver's license required).

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience with farming or landscaping
  • Valid driver’s license & proof of insurance
  • Ability to learn and adapt to Farmscape best practices
  • Friendly and clear communicator 
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail a must
  • Curiosity, resourcefulness, tenacity and strong work ethic 

Physical Demands: 

  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to perform manual work, lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time 
  • Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions
