Job description

Job Summary:

We’re seeking an experienced and dependable Landscape Construction & Installation Crew Foreman to lead crews on commercial and high-end residential projects in the Modesto area.

In this role, you’ll supervise and work alongside a crew to ensure landscape installations are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in irrigation, planting, grading, hardscaping, and equipment operation, along with strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a crew of landscape installers on construction and installation projects
  • Oversee daily jobsite operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality control
  • Install and troubleshoot irrigation systems (piping, valves, controllers, sprinkler heads)
  • Execute hardscape and softscape installations, including:
    • Grading and soil prep
    • Planting trees, shrubs, and ground cover
    • Installing bark, mulch, and rock
  • Operate and maintain equipment including Bobcats, trenchers, and mini excavators
  • Read and interpret landscape plans and ensure proper implementation
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, labor, and job progress
  • Coordinate with project managers and clients as needed
  • Train crew members and enforce company policies and safety procedures

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in landscape construction and installation
  • Prior experience leading a crew is required
  • Strong knowledge of irrigation systems and landscape construction methods
  • Ability to read landscape plans and layout projects accordingly
  • Skilled in operating small equipment (Bobcat, mini excavator, trencher)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
