Job description

Description:

RIOS is an international design collective. We are actively in pursuit of wonder within the design of the built environment. We believe design is an act of optimism through which invention and ideas change the world. We practice interconnected design across architecture, placemaking, and landscape architecture to define design as a continuum.

We follow a process that begins with attunement, where program and context shape strong conceptual thinking to establish a holistically informed big idea through which we develop form, confirm function, and define experience as the basis on which to explore ecology, material, and tectonic expression. We are known for our bold solutions that are inclusive of the wider context and are ever mindful that an interdisciplinary approach to design brings about inclusive, resilient, and original solutions that ensure diversity and resilience.

We have an immediate opening for an experienced landscape design professional to assist and develop appropriate design solutions on multiple projects. Interested applicants must have a strong design aesthetic and be able to implement a projectโ€™s design vision from concept through completion via critical design thinking, iteration, inclusive communication, and active, creative problem solving.

The ideal candidate must possess the following skills:

  • Strong design skills and a passion for creativity
  • Strong organizational skills
  • A high degree of self-motivation, flexibility, and resourcefulness
  • Knowledge of planting design, materials, and technical aspects of landscape architecture
  • Construction documents and specification experience
  • Construction administration experience, as well as experience coordinating with a range of consultants including civil, electrical, and structural engineers
  • Ability to skillfully work alongside internal and external customers
  • Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5-8+ years of landscape architectural design experience through all phases of design and documentation
  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Experience with Autocad, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Sketch-Up
  • Revit and Rhino experience is a plus
