Job Title: Plant & Wildlife Sciences – Plant and Landscape Systems, CFS Professorial FacultyPosting End Date: October 15, 2026*NOTE: Last day to apply is Wednesday, October 14, 2026 @11:59 pm MSTPosition Start Date: September 1, 2027Required Degree: Doctoral degree in a field relevant to plant and landscape systems. The required degree must be completed by the start date.Experience:Teaching experience: Teaching experience relevant to the position and the applicant’s career status will be evaluated. The applicant should document their teaching interests, experience, vision, and how these could strengthen the BYU Plant and Landscape Systems program.Research, mentoring, and leadership experience: The application should show that the candidate is prepared to lead a research program that prioritizes mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. The applicant’s record of publishing in quality, peer-reviewed scientific journals will be evaluated relative to their career status. A vision for how to obtain research funding and lead a student-focused research program is required.Duties/Expectations:Teaching: The successful candidate will teach 3-4 regular classroom or laboratory courses per year in the Plant and Landscape Systems program plus mentoring courses. The specific teaching assignment will match program needs with candidate interest and experience. Potential courses could include the following: Introduction to Plant and Landscape Systems, Plants in the Environment, Trees, Residential Landscape Design, Plant and Landscape Business Systems, Interior Plants and Landscapes, etc.Scholarship: The successful candidate will lead an externally funded research program that prioritizes mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
