JR's Landscape Services is expanding, and we are looking to fill the following full-time position:
Position Summary:
As the Landscape/Hardscape Installation Enhancement Team Lead, your team is responsible for delivering high-quality landscape enhancement services for both commercial and residential properties. This role includes overseeing site clean-ups, mulch installation, flower bed planting based on landscape designs, and executing hardscape projects such as patios, sidewalks, and other structural landscape features. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of managing crews efficiently to ensure projects are completed on time, within specifications, and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate a small landscaping crew on daily assignments
  • Teach new skills to other team members
  • Perform and oversee seasonal clean-ups for commercial and residential properties
  • Install mulch, soil, and plant materials according to landscape design plans
  • Implement and maintain flower beds, ensuring proper plant placement and health
  • Execute hardscape installations including patios, walkways, sidewalks, retaining walls, landscape lighting and related features
  • Interpret landscape designs, blueprints, and project specifications accurately
  • Ensure all work meets company quality standards and client expectations
  • Operate landscaping tools and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety procedures
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and team members
  • Manage job site organization, materials, and time to maximize productivity

Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in landscaping, including enhancement and hardscape work
  • Experience leading or supervising a team
  • Knowledge of proper planting techniques, landscape materials, and installation methods according to landscape industry standards
  • Ability to read and follow landscape design plans or drawings
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience with hardscape construction (pavers, stonework, concrete, etc.)
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical outdoor work in various conditions
  • Valid driver's license required (Class A CDL preferred)
  • Illinois Pesticide License or willing to obtain
  • Must pass IL DOT Physical and Pre-Employment Drug Screen. Must have valid and appropriate work authorization and ability to speak and interpret documents in English
