The Assistant Irrigation Service Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of irrigation systems for both residential and commercial properties. This position involves hands-on work with various irrigation components, providing an opportunity to develop technical skills in a supportive environment. Responsibilities
  • Inspect and repair irrigation systems, addressing leaks and other damages.
  • Maintain and repair sprinkler systems, drip lines, spray heads, pressure regulators, and other irrigation components.
  • Calculate water requirements based on weather conditions, plant material, and soil type.
  • Maintain drip irrigation systems and specialized equipment such as emitters and timers.
  • Design or modify irrigation systems for specific applications like greenhouses and nurseries.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and replacing pumps, filters, valves, hoses, and nozzles.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of irrigation systems and ability to read and interpret irrigation plans.
  • Knowledge of irrigation system components such as valves, pumps, and sprinkler heads.
  • Ability to identify and repair common irrigation system issues.
