Job description

Halff is seeking to hire an experienced Team Leader to lead our Planning and Landscape Architecture team in the Oklahoma City office. This is a rare opportunity to lead a team of planners, designers, and project managers in a collaborative environment to help clients plan, design, and implement projects that improve their communities.
The Halff Oklahoma City team is involved in a variety of exciting community enhancement projects across Oklahoma and in nearby states. We are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic work environment that is both challenging and fun. Our ideal candidate is a great team member who is technically skilled, supportive of others, and interested in career development.
What you will do:
  • The responsibilities of this leadership position include oversight of the Oklahoma planning and design team and facilitation of our efforts to deliver award-winning projects.
  • Project will include parks, trails, streetscapes, recreation facilities and sports fields; amenity design for residential and/or multi-family developments, community development plans, and development of comprehensive plans and master planning on public and private projects.
  • The ideal candidate can balance client, company and project team responsibilities, including strategic pursuits and marketing, project leadership, team representation, oversight and preparation of high-quality documents and deliverables, and interactive public engagement.

What you will need:
  • Ability to work with and oversee creative design teams, consultants, and clients through all design stages from concept through construction.
  • Foster and promote a positive, team-oriented environment and team culture of high performance.
  • Ability to lead and coach a team while meeting deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Experience in creating, influencing, and managing the successful financial metrics of a project and the team.
  • Knowledgeable in producing CD sets including hardscape, planting, construction details, specifications, and bidding packages.
  • Experience designing parks, trails, recreation facilities, master-planned communities, etc. for public and private sector clients.
  • Experience with construction methodologies and implementation.
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, and highly motivated to lead a high performing team.
  • Manage multiple projects of various scale and complexity simultaneously.
  • Be able to anticipate the needs of clients and projects and resolve conflicts that arise.
  • Experience leading, coaching, managing people (Sr. Project Managers to entry level designers).
  • Bachelors of Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university.
  • Oklahoma registration as a Professional Landscape Architect.
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible professional experience as a Professional Landscape Architect.
  • Familiarity with preparing proposals/scope of work documents and associated fees.
  • Strong knowledge in AutoCAD, Land F/X, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong Site Planning capabilities/knowledge, and excellent design skills.
  • Experience in planting design, hardscape design and construction document generation is critical.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, graphical, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel periodically, primarily in state, to support project needs.
