The team at Margaritaville Lake Resort is here to create and deliver fun and escapism for our guests and a clean, landscaped and welcoming environment is an essential part of our guest’s experience.  With good pay, extensive benefits and a family atmosphere, we are looking for a Resort Grounds team member to ensure the resort grounds are well maintained.

Job Type: Full Time

Pay $16.00  per hour

Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age

Reports to: Landscaping Manager

As a Resort Groundskeeper, you will work in all weathers and seasons to maintain the grounds within the resort, including planting, weeding, trimming, leaf blowing, garbage removal and attending to icy conditions to improve safety in the winter.

Responsibilities include:

  • Report to Supervisor at the beginning of shift to review daily duties and any special requests.
  • Pick up and dispose of trash from entry drive-through and front sidewalk ensuring neat/clean curb appeal.
  • Report any repair issues immediately to Supervisor.
  • Sweep or mop front pedestrian walkways as necessary.
  • Empty trash and cigarette containers.
  • Pick up and dispose of trash in garage.
  • Ensure all trash containers are empty and areas are swept.
  • Remove and dispose of trash from perimeter of building and back dock.
  • Scrupulously follow all safety guidelines, i.e.: never using hands to pick up broken glass or sharp objects.
  • Greet all guests with warm, friendly welcome.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Personal Skills

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Missouri Class E driver’s license.
  •  Must have basic knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
  •  Ability to accurately and timely report information to appropriate parties.
  • Ability to scrupulously follow all Driftwood and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Projects and assignments are completed thoroughly, professionally, and with care.
  • Adjusts to high-pressure conditions and is open to change.
  • Consistently maintains positive demeanor.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development.
  • Conducts him\herself, acts and dresses professionally at all times; sets standards for all associates.
  • Understands and communicates the Driftwood Mission.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting, carrying and pulling of 50-60 pounds
  • Pushing, bending, stooping, kneeling, pulling, upward reaching, manual dexterity

  • Ability to stand on feet for hours at a time and be able to climb stairs
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold for extended periods of time
