Floor Care Assistant

Duties include- Refinishes and waxes floors, buffs floors, cleans surrounding pool floor, shampoos carpets, cleans upholstered furniture, preventative maintenance on housekeeping equipment, repairs housekeeping equipment, helps with cleaning of cottages and room turnovers and assists with housekeeping jobs as directed by supervisor/director.

Position Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Refinishes, waxes and buffs floors as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Shampoos carpets and cleans upholstered furniture as spills/accidents occur.
  • Cleans the floor in the pool area.
  • Cleans filters on vacuum cleaners, cleans out shampooing machines, checks on water level in vacuum cleaner batteries and does many preventative maintenance jobs on housekeeping equipment.
  • Shampoos carpets for Residential Living residents by appointment.
  • Communicates significant happenings in housekeeping to the supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Helps with cleaning of cottages and room turnovers and assists with housekeeping duties as needed to ensure the completion of jobs in a timely manner.
  • Performs regular housekeeping tasks such as cleaning residents rooms, baths, offices, halls and other areas as assigned, washes beds, mattresses, and remakes beds after resident transfers or as scheduled.
  • Keeps assigned areas neat and clean.
  • Demonstrates dependability, competence, accuracy and is observant.
  • Adheres to compliance policies regarding confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and resident and client rights.
  • Complies with regulatory agency standards and applicable policies and procedures.
  • Complies with safety and infection control protocols in all aspects of the job.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • General knowledge of equipment maintenance preferred.
