Job description

Job Title: Disposal Operator

Job Type: Full-Time

Summary

The Disposal Operator role entails overseeing disposal facility operations, including maintenance, equipment operation, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include managing landfill and disposal sites, maintaining safety standards, and promptly reporting any incidents or issues. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, be adaptable to changing tasks and weather conditions, and be capable of working independently or as part of a team. A CDL is preferred, and the work schedule may vary based on business needs, with potential for call-outs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform disposal facility maintenance and operations, including operating DHI equipment, maintain oil water separator, skim oil on ponds, operate pumps, operate evaporation system, production tanks, tank burners, process crude oil and condensate in preparation for sale, and complete/validate assigned regulatory tasks/paperwork to stay compliance with government agencies.
  • Operate landfill and disposal sites as per state permit requirements with provided equipment
  • Use stop work authority if needed or assigned a task not safe completing
  • Be the company representative at disposal for DHI when contractors arrive with product
  • Immediately notify Operations Manager of any near misses, accidents, operational issues, lost tools, vehicle failures, customer issues, and equipment failures to Operations Manager.
  • Accountable for service notifications to mechanics, perform daily maintenance on equipment, care and clean DHI equipment and tools to ensure reliability and be operated safely
  • Accountable for tools and supplies on DHI truck and ensure that supplies are restocked as needed.
  • Strict adherence to DHI policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for daily timecard entry (start time, lunch, and end time)

  • Able to perform job duties and responsibilities in all types of weather, days/nights, and adapt for changing tasks if needed daily

  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds and stand on uneven ground for long periods of time
