Come join the Silgan team driving forklift.The forklift operator will support production, and shipping/receiving operations by operating different types of forklifts. Starting wage is $25.34 per hour.Essential Job Functions:• Load trucks with finished sheet metal• Load cut sheet material onto platforms for dispatch through the manufacturing lines• Prepare finished goods for transfer to other departments• Remove coil loads and other materials from trucks as they are delivered• Transport unfinished and finished product throughout the plant and supply the production lines with raw materials• Empty scrap tubs of metal waste• Assist in taking inventory and prepare orders for shipment as neededJob Requirements• Ability to demonstrate forklift driving experience and pass the certification test if not already certifiedExperience/Education:• High school diploma or equivalent• Experience in a manufacturing facility• 6 months-2 years of forklift driving work experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environmentPhysical Requirements:• Ability to kneel, stoop, crawl, squat, and stand for extended period, while running machinery up to 12 hours• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 poundsWho we are: America's largest metal food packaging producer.A company that strives toward sustainability by reducing our carbon footprint, selecting likeminded suppliers, and providing recyclable products.Silgan Containers has set sustainability targets through 2030 to source more renewable energy, reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, and divert our waste from landfill to foster environmental stewardship.
