Traffic Engineer- (Rochester)

We are seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to join a growing transportation team in Rochester focused on delivering impactful roadway and traffic solutions. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects, mentor staff, and collaborate with public-sector clients on a variety of transportation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead traffic engineering projects, including traffic studies, signal design, corridor analyses, and safety evaluations.
  • Perform and oversee traffic modeling using tools such as Synchro, VISSIM, and HCS.
  • Prepare technical reports, client presentations, and project proposals.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Coordinate with municipal and state transportation agencies and stakeholders.
  • Support business development activities through client engagement and proposal development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive traffic engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; New York PE preferred or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Strong experience with traffic analysis software and transportation design standards.
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and project management skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously.
