Land Development Project Manager

Owings Mills, MD

Lead Projects That Shape Communities Across the Mid-Atlantic

An exciting opportunity is available for a Land Development Project Manager to join a growing, highly collaborative team delivering impactful site development and urban redevelopment projects throughout the Baltimore–Washington region.

This is a key leadership role where you’ll take ownership of projects, mentor talented teams, and build strong client relationships—while driving projects that directly influence how communities grow and thrive.

The Opportunity

As a Project Manager, you’ll lead civil/site development projects from concept through construction, working across both public and private sector clients. You’ll have the autonomy to guide projects, the support of a strong multidisciplinary team, and the opportunity to make a visible impact in a dynamic and fast-growing market.

What You’ll Do
  • Own project delivery – Lead land development projects from planning, design, and permitting through construction and closeout
  • Drive results – Manage scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and quality across multiple projects
  • Build client relationships – Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor
  • Lead and mentor teams – Guide engineers at all levels and coordinate subconsultants
  • Ensure technical excellence – Oversee design documents, reports, and specifications
  • Navigate approvals – Manage permitting, agency coordination, and stakeholder engagement
  • Support growth – Contribute to proposals, fee development, and business development efforts
  • Stay hands-on – Provide technical direction in grading, stormwater, utilities, and site design

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • PE License (MD, DC, or VA—or ability to obtain)
  • 10+ years of progressive land development experience
  • Proven success managing projects, clients, and teams
  • Strong knowledge of local permitting processes in MD/DC/VA
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

What Sets You Apart
  • Experience with stormwater design and modeling tools (Hydraflow, HydroCAD, etc.)
  • Strong technical background in grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control
  • Involvement in industry organizations or business development
  • Experience preparing proposals and managing client relationships

Why This Role Stands Out
  • High-impact work — Contribute to meaningful projects shaping the region
  • Leadership opportunity — Mentor teams and influence project direction
  • Growth environment — Be part of a rapidly expanding practice
  • Diverse project portfolio — From large-scale developments to complex urban sites
  • Collaborative culture — Work alongside top professionals in a supportive, team-driven environment

If you’re ready to step into a leadership role where your expertise, relationships, and vision truly make a difference, this is an opportunity worth exploring. Apply now and you'll be glad you did!
