  • Answering phones and assisting callers in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Creating and maintaining new case files
  • Learning how to prepare and register death certificates
  • Entering and maintaining accurate information in our funeral home computer systems
  • Filing, scanning, copying, and organizing documents
  • Assisting funeral directors and arrangers with paperwork and daily office needs
  • Communicating with families, hospitals, care facilities, physicians' offices, and other organizations as needed
  • Helping maintain an organized and professional office environment

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Professional, dependable, and well organized
  • Comfortable speaking with people by phone and in person
  • Compassionate and respectful when working with grieving families
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records
  • Comfortable learning new computer programs and procedures
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Interested in learning and taking on additional responsibilities over time

Experience in an office, medical office, senior care facility, customer service, or other professional setting is helpful, but not required.

Opportunity for Advancement

This position has the potential to become much more than an administrative role. For the right person, we are willing to provide additional training and opportunities to learn the funeral profession, including working directly with families and eventually advancing into a full-time Funeral Arranger position.
