Job description

LEMOINE, a Great Place to Work®-Certified company, is seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our growing Disaster Services Department. Our Disaster Services team is committed to restoring homes and rebuilding communities across Southeast Louisiana. We are looking for a detail-oriented Finish Carpenter who takes pride in craftsmanship and understands the importance of delivering high-quality final punch work and warranty repairs for homeowners.

Summary

The Finish Carpenter is responsible for completing final punch-out work on residential homes and addressing service warranty claims related to workmanship. This role requires precision, professionalism, and strong customer interaction skills, as work is performed in occupied and recently completed homes.

Projects are primarily located in:

  • Orleans Parish

  • Terrebonne Parish

  • Jefferson Parish

  • Lafourche Parish

The Finish Carpenter will ensure all work meets LEMOINE quality standards, contract requirements, and homeowner expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform final punch list corrections on residential homes, ensuring all items meet company and client standards.

  • Address warranty service claims related to workmanship, including but not limited to:

    • Interior trim and molding repairs

    • Door and hardware adjustments

    • Cabinet alignment and touch-ups

    • Minor drywall repair and texture blending

    • Baseboards, casing, and crown molding installation or repair

    • Caulking, sealing, and finish detail work

  • Install, repair, and adjust interior doors, windows, trim, and finish carpentry components.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, scopes of work, and punch lists.

  • Maintain high-quality craftsmanship with strong attention to detail.

  • Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding scope of repairs and timelines.

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, especially in occupied residences.

  • Perform daily tool and equipment inspections.

  • Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety policies.

  • Drive to multiple job sites within assigned parishes as needed.

  • Document completed work and report status updates to supervisors.

  • Assist with minor general carpentry tasks as assigned.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or project manager.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of residential finish carpentry experience required.

  • Experience performing punch-out and warranty work preferred.

  • Prior disaster recovery or residential reconstruction experience is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and materials.

  • Ability to perform precise trim, cabinetry, and detail finish work.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct workmanship deficiencies.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Frequent use of hands, tools, and power equipment.

  • Ability to bend, kneel, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to work in residential homes and varying site conditions.

  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Communication Skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate with supervisors, team members, and homeowners.

  • Must be able to read and understand punch lists and work orders.

  • Ability to document completed repairs accurately.

Safety Compliance
