What is a ladybug?

Ladybugs, also known as ladybirds or lady beetles, are small, dome-shaped insects belonging to the family Coccinellidae. They are often brightly colored with spots and are considered beneficial insects because they feed on plant pests such as aphids. Ladybugs are commonly found in gardens, fields, and forests worldwide. Their presence helps control pest populations, making them valuable allies for farmers and gardeners. There are over 5,000 species of ladybugs, each with unique color patterns and habitats.
