Lactation assistants are healthcare professionals who support breastfeeding parents by providing education, guidance, and hands-on help with breastfeeding techniques. They work under the supervision of lactation consultants or other medical staff and assist with latch issues, pumping, and general breastfeeding concerns. Their goal is to help families establish and maintain successful breastfeeding practices, offering encouragement and practical solutions in hospitals, clinics, or community settings.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a lactation assistant, and why are they important?
