The Test Engineers lead the research, development, design, and test of hardware/software components, equipment and systems. Provides analysis related to the design, development and implementation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow current TE development processes.
  • Expected to be a participant in Process Improvement activities including process generation, checklists and data analysis.
  • Perform tasks according to budget and schedule.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Prepares technical status reports, as required.
  • Occasional travel requiring overnight stays may be required. Airline travel must be acceptable.
  • Designs portions of electronic test equipment, for both in-house use (Factory Acceptance and Engineering development) and customer applications using modern computer technology, data acquisition equipment and control systems. Includes implementation of requirements, detail design and Factory Acceptance Test Procedure (FATP) development from engineering source data.
  • Working with the Program team, may interface with the customer including providing inputs to technical presentations, telecoms, formal reviews, etc.
  • Develops and debugs Test Programs Sets (TPSs) for production hardware including LabView and LabWindows applications based on explicit and derived requirements.
  • May contribute to designs that further advances Statistical Process Control (SPC), Cpk error analysis tools and features.
  • Provides technical support to other engineering disciplines and production personnel for release of new test programs and procedures. Assists in the transition from engineering to production test methods.
  • Participates in integration, verification and validation activities of developed test equipment.
  • Participates in equipment maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in factory and field installations.
  • Prepares engineering changes, status reports, as required.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Typical tools/languages may include LabView, LabWindows, C++, DOORS, Visual Basic, Microsoft SQL or Microsoft Access.
  • Provides peer review services for Test Engineering personnel.
  • Provide inputs to metrics for reporting to Project Engineering Management as well as Corporate Engineering Management. This may include Technical Performance data, defects, etc.
  • Provides direction to Designers, Drafters and Technicians.
  • Designs electronic test equipment, components and systems (Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), Manual Test Fixtures, etc.) for both in-house use (Factory Acceptance and Engineering development) and customer applications using modern computer technology, data acquisition equipment and control systems. Includes implementation of requirements, detail design and Factory Acceptance Test Procedure (FATP) development from engineering source data.
  • Analyzes and interprets test data.
  • Provides inputs for technical solutions and estimates for requests for proposal.
  • Coordinates operation, equipment maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in factory and field installations.
  • Provide metrics for reporting to Senior Test Engineering personnel. This may include Technical Performance Metrics, Earned Value, process adherence, etc.
  • Provides inputs for project planning and monitoring using MS Project, MS Excel etc.
  • In addition to Designers, Drafters, Technicians, provides direction to lower-level Engineers.

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from a four-year college
  • Must have 5-10 years of related experience

  • Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance.

Compensation and Benefits:

TTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs. Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
