What is a lab?

In a professional context, 'labs' typically refer to laboratories—specialized facilities where scientific research, experiments, and analysis are conducted. Labs can be found in various industries, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, technology, and academia. They are staffed by scientists, technicians, and researchers who use specialized equipment to test hypotheses, develop products, or analyze samples. The main purpose of labs is to provide a controlled environment for experimentation and discovery, which can lead to new innovations and advancements in their respective fields.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a laboratory technician?

To thrive as a Laboratory Technician, you need a strong background in biology or chemistry, attention to detail, and typically an associate's or bachelor's degree in a science field. Familiarity with laboratory equipment, safety protocols, and data analysis software such as LIMS is essential.
