What is a lab?

In a professional context, 'labs' typically refer to laboratories—specialized facilities where scientific research, experiments, and analysis are conducted. Labs can be found in various industries, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, technology, and academia. They are staffed by scientists, technicians, and researchers who use specialized equipment to test hypotheses, develop products, or analyze samples. The main purpose of labs is to provide a controlled environment for experimentation and discovery, which can lead to new innovations and advancements in their respective fields.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a laboratory technician?

To thrive as a Laboratory Technician, you need a strong background in biology or chemistry, attention to detail, and typically an associate's or bachelor's degree in a science field. Familiarity with laboratory equipment, safety protocols, and data analysis software such as LIMS is essential. Strong organizational skills, problem-solving, and the ability to communicate findings clearly help you stand out in this position. These skills are vital for ensuring accurate test results, maintaining safe lab environments, and supporting scientific research or diagnostic processes.

What are some typical challenges faced when working in a laboratory environment, and how can they be addressed?

Working in a laboratory setting often involves balancing strict safety protocols, meticulous documentation, and precise experimental procedures. Common challenges include managing time efficiently between experiments, troubleshooting unexpected results, and adhering to safety and compliance standards. Strong communication within the lab team is crucial, as collaboration ensures consistency and accurate data collection. To address these challenges, labs often implement regular safety training, clear documentation processes, and team meetings to discuss ongoing projects and potential issues.

Job description

ABOUT THE COMPANY
Founded in 2016, Pitted Labs is a leading e-commerce agency that helps brands grow and win on Amazon, TikTok, DTC, and other major marketplaces. We partner with brands ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 companies, supporting them through critical growth phases and helping them become category leaders and #1 best sellers.

Our work spans strategy, execution, and operational support, all grounded in deep marketplace expertise and a high bar for service. We pride ourselves on working with exceptional brands, solving complex problems, and delivering results that materially impact our clients’ businesses.

Pitted’s mission is to build and serve through authentic relationships and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Every team member is expected to embody our core values: Curiosity, Entrepreneurship, Collaboration, Humor, Selflessness, and Success.

YOUR ROLE
We're hiring a Partnerships Manager to build and own the ecosystem of relationships that drives new business to Pitted Labs. This is a network-first, relationship-driven position for someone who thrives on knowing the right people and creating shared value.

The Amazon and e-commerce space is surrounded by adjacent players: 3PLs, creative and social media agencies, non-Amazon marketing firms, software companies, VC and PE groups investing in CPG and e-commerce brands, and consultants who work with the same brands we do. Those relationships are an underutilized growth channel for us. Your job is to change that.

You'll work directly with our CEO and COO. They close deals — you build the trust, the relationships, and ultimately, the pipeline that strengthens our right-to-win.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Build and Scale Partner Relationships
  • Identify, prospect, and develop relationships with adjacent service providers — 3PLs, social media agencies, creative agencies, software providers, non-Amazon marketing firms, VC/PE groups investing in e-commerce, and consultants in the CPG/DTC space
  • Inherit and significantly expand a set of existing partner relationships (we have a foundation; we need someone to 10x it)
  • Develop a systematic approach to partner outreach, qualification, and ongoing nurturing
  • Provide ongoing mutual value to our partners to maintain relationships, through a combination of client referrals, insight sharing, colleague intros, and more
  • Travel as needed to meet partners in person, attend industry events, and represent Pitted Labs in the broader ecosystem

Drive Qualified Pipeline
  • Convert partner relationships into a steady stream of warm introductions to brands that fit our ICP
  • Qualify inbound leads and work with leadership to prioritize and move opportunities forward
  • Collaborate with our CEO and COO on RFP responses, scoping, and deal strategy — you surface the opportunities, we help close them

Build the Program
  • Develop and maintain a partner CRM — tracking relationships, pipeline contributions, and follow-up cadences
  • Create and leverage materials that help partners understand who Pitted Labs is, what we do, and who to send our way
  • Create and leverage materials that create genuine value for our partners, with or without reciprocation
  • Identify and establish mutual referral or co-marketing arrangements where it makes sense

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • You have an existing network in the e-commerce, CPG, or Amazon ecosystem — or in an adjacent space where our ICP lives
  • You're a relationship builder by nature, not a cold caller. You know how to create genuine value for partners, not just extract it
  • You're organized and self-directed. You can manage a broad set of relationships without dropping the ball
  • You're comfortable working in a small company. There's no playbook handed to you — you'll help build it
  • You have a track record of generating business through partnerships, referrals, or business development activity
  • Bonus: experience in agency sales, CPG brand management, logistics, or e-commerce operations

WHY WORK AT PITTED LABS?
  • Competitive salary and commission structure: $60k-$90k base DOE, $150K OTE, uncapped
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance 100% covered for employees
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth
  • A collaborative, high-performing, and genuinely enjoyable team culture
