Job description

Job Summary: The wall fabrication laborer fabricates finished walls to support the assembly line. This is done by installing wall skins on completed wall frames, and bending them if required. Each wall is built for a specific boat. The finished walls are then placed in the staging area, ready to be installed on the boat.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
  • Follows all pre-established installation and quality methods, procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency of work
  • Reads order-specific job travelers and/or engineered drawings to ensure each order is produced to specifications
  • Uses various hand tools, bending machine, and rolling machine to fabricate wall and door sections
  • Completes all job duties within given time constraints
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Cross-trains between several different jobs
  • Cleans and maintains work area
  • Pursues continuous improvement to improve efficiency of job duties and work flow

Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Needs good visual judgment to notice errors and/or defects
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multifunctional team oriented work environment
  • Ability to work variable hours with short notice (up to 50+ hrs. per week)

Physical Requirements and Environment
  • Must be physically capable of safely lifting a minimum of 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Requires pushing material carts that weigh up to 200 lbs.
  • Involves standing, squatting, bending, and lifting for long periods as required
  • Requires repetitive movement and extensive use of hands
  • Includes exposure to noise levels that are distracting and/or uncomfortable
  • Requires wearing personal protective equipment
  • Requires visual acuity for accurate graphics installation
