Job Description

The Employee Relations Manager for the Global Employee Relations group manages employee relations issues for their region, from intake through remediation and follow‑up. The role serves as an advisor to CSL managers and senior management regarding policies and procedures and collaborates with HR Business Partners, Managers, Employees, legal counsel, and other departments to administer ER services. The ER Manager seeks to improve the employee experience while assessing, advising, and decreasing risk to the company.

Responsibilities
  • Employee/Industrial Relations
    • Manage moderately complex ER cases independently and in collaboration with peers, HR Business Partners, legal counsel, and other stakeholders.
    • Conduct confidential investigations of serious misconduct including harassment, discrimination, or policy breaches; gather information, interview individuals, analyze data, and prepare legally sound documentation.
    • Recommend courses of action and coach management through implementation.
    • Maintain fair, legally sound, fully documented, unbiased investigations and actions.
    • Receive and investigate Compliance Hotline/Speak Up cases, enabling resolution and documentation.
    • Facilitate terminations, including letters, meetings, and related documentation.
    • Provide feedback and guidance on best practices and fair treatment of employees.
    • Build relationships with managers and influence buy‑in in sensitive situations.
    • Participate in program development and ER training with the Learning department.
    • Partner with employment law counsel and coordinate case responses to minimize risk.
    • Ensure consistent application of company policies and contracts.
    • In unionized environments, facilitate labor grievance resolution, conduct investigations, and coordinate arbitrations as necessary.
  • Medical Accommodations
    • Manage medical accommodation process with stakeholders.
    • Facilitate discussions with HR Business Partners and medical experts.
    • Advocate for employees while balancing company values to find solutions.
    • Document determinations in the appropriate system.
  • Corrective Action
    • Educate leaders on corrective action, SMART objectives, and early intervention.
    • Advise on appropriate resolutions for employee behavior and performance.
    • Support managers in developing corrective action plans and performance improvement plans.
    • Document and record employee actions in the system.
  • Special Projects / Administration
    • Complete special HR/ER projects, clarifying objectives, setting timelines, conducting research, organizing information, and delivering on time.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Maintain accurate case management records for reporting and compliance.
Qualifications
  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology, Business, or closely related field.
  • Experience – Minimum 3–5 years as a HR Generalist, HRBP, or Employee Relations Manager in a dynamic, global organization; experience managing investigations and employee relations.
  • Preferred Experience – Experience in a global matrixed reporting environment, supporting multiple remote locations, and labor union or works‑council experience.
  • Competencies – Knowledge of employment laws, government reporting regulations, and policy compliance; strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; bilingual English/Spanish; Portuguese preferred.
  • Ability to manage complex employee relations cases and investigations; strong conflict facilitation and resolution skills; strong organizational and prioritization skills; diplomatic and discreet handling of confidential information; ability to build relationships and influence others; experience working in virtual environments; strong conflict mediation skills.

Salary – Expected base salary range for this position is $98,000–$116,000 USD. Compensation may also include incentive and equity.
